Absentee Voting

Absentee Ballots

Under the current Absentee Voting Laws in Illinois, the voter no longer has to state a reason or excuse to request an absentee ballot.

You may also call the Clerk’s Office at (217) 824-4969 and request they mail you or your family member a preprinted application form. This preprinted form will have most of the information already filled in and the voter will simply need to sign and date it and return it to the Clerk’s Office. In-person absentee voting is done at the County Clerk’s Office. Both in-person and by-mail absentee ballots are cast at the Clerk’s Office and are tabulated on Election Day after the close of polls by a team of Election Judges.
